DIRKDAVE. god. my shaylas. my roman empire. i could yap about these two FOREVER.in a ship with these two that exists outside the canon (not to say that i cant appreciate their relationship in canon), these two living together as “normal” brothers means everything to me.dirk yearning to have a brotherly relationship with an iteration of his bro whom he never got the chance to meet as opposed to daves need for reassurance and undying adoration which he never received from his broand now you have two dudes who are absolutely stupid for each otherlike… they heal each other <3(or they make each other worse because everyone knows striders are incapable of being normal about each other LOL)

I recently read a fic, one chapter, but thick nonetheless. I actually cried from how much the words moved me, and I implore you to check it out, if you have about an hour or so to sit down and just read. It’s about post-game, but in an alternate universe where everyone is sent back to where they were before they started the session. It’s so… modern, and cozy. Genuinely one of my favorite dirkdave fics ever.(fic here)

as mentioned before, there are ships here that arent exactly canon compliant no matter what timeline you look at. however, again, i can appreciate these two from outside of a canon perspective, putting a spin on their personalities and dynamic traits and focusing on how they work together under the same roof.okay now that i think on it longer, TECHNICALLY these two could have potentially met in canon? yknow if bro had managed to initiate the scratch or at least not die before the other kids did, theyd all be sent to the same timeline and bro would meet a very much alive alternate version of himself. god, thats kinda scary to think about but funny regardless. the canon story thus far would completely derail and crash and die and. sigh. fuckliterally every interaction between them is justDIRK: Hey.
